Never Forget

In honour of Rememberance Day and Veterans Day in the United States, I have dedicated this day's blog to the men and women who have fought for our freedom and those that continue to fight for our freedom in Afghanistan and around the world. Thank you for fighting for our freedom.

To make it hockey related, here is a list of those that perished in the World Wars.

World War I
- Allan Davidson: June 15th, 1915
World War II
-Red Garrett: November 25th, 1944
-Joe Turner: January 12th, 1945

Lest We Forget.

In Flanders Field
By John McCrae, MD. May 1915

In Flanders Field the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Field.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Field.
